Achieving stability is a must-do for rifle shooters. Use the prone position or sitting position or even better; invest in a bipod or bench rest. The more solid your position, the more solid your chances will be of hitting your target.

Watch out for the ‘creep’. This is the trigger movement that sometimes occurs with rifles before the break and release of the firing pin. When you pull the trigger, your rifle should fire instantly without delay—if you notice any trigger creeping, have your rifle serviced.
