Module 14 - SURVIVAL

KNOW THE WEATHER

Check the forecast before you go and find out if there is there is any potential for extreme weather hazards in your hunting area. You do NOT want to be trekking along during severe humidity, carrying your firearm over icy terrain… or sitting in a treestand when you notice the orange glow of a forest fire. Basically, you should consider all of the possible worst-case scenarios for your trip and pack accordingly. This doesn’t mean dragging an ambulance with you—but there are some basic emergency supplies that you should always have in your pack.
