MAINTAINING YOUR LIFE JACKETS

Keeping your life jackets in good shape will save you money—they won’t need to be replaced as frequently. So, that’s good news, but remember, once a life jacket gets damaged, even if it’s just a small tear, the life jacket will no longer be considered Coast Guard-approved. Check your life jackets thoroughly at the beginning of each season and keep an eye on their condition throughout!

How to Clean Your Life Jacket:

Step 1: Wash the life jacket with mild, environmentally friendly soap.

Step 2: Rinse the life jacket with water to remove any soap residue.

Step 3: Never dry-clean or use strong detergents, gasoline, or chemicals to wash the life jacket.

Step 4: Air-dry the life jacket out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat sources.
